  1. Hi,
I am considering buying a jersey and some padded shorts.

I like the look of this jersey (Supergo Lucid Short Sleeve Jersey, USD39.97) and these (Nema 04' Milkman Short, USD21.98) shorts.

The jersey is quite expensive. Does anyone know of any similar (in design, look and performance) jersey for a cheaper price, or anywhere that is cheaper to buy it?

I'd also like to know a bit about the shorts, do they have saddle padding and how long is the leg? Do they go past the knee does anyone know? Is it advisable to buy some undershorts with padding also?

Is this a reputable site and are these good prices?

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Supergo is reputable, and those prices are pretty good. You can also get some good deals at the Performance Bike and Nashbar sites. All three are owned by the same company, but their prices and selection vary a bit.

Believe it or not, $40 is not that much for a jersey. Check out eBay, there's tons of jerseys and shorts there. Performance seems to run some really good closeout specials. Normally you do not wear underwear with cycling shorts. Sorry, I don't know anything about the shorts. Supergo is very reputable site/store.

  4. 😠

I emailed them two days ago asking about size and delivery. They only wrote back the day before yesterday regarding delivery costs to Ireland so I emailed them again about the size, no reply still. You'd think they'd want to sell their products😕

Thanks for the replies by the way!

The cheapest jerseys that I own and wear regularly are from performance bike. http://www.performancebike.com The Canari paceline is currently under 25 dollars.

As far as shorts. I like the Cannondale Downhill Daddy, which is an inner padded short, and a separate outer shell. You get the look of normal casual streetwear shorts, but the comfort of cycling shorts. The short liner can be worn as cycling shorts without the outer liner, if you choose.

They are usually on sale from Nashbar.

Aren't there any suppliers in Ireland?

    Sean

  6. Well I eventually got round to ordering a jersey and shorts. Supergo never replied to me, I sent them about 4 emails asking for them to get back to me and no reply. That was a month ago!

So I found out my friend had an ebay account set up (I wasn't to keen on setting one up as I don't have my own credit card) so I had a look there.

I found this jersey and these padded shorts. $60.80 delivered to Ireland. Very impressive, thats just under €50. The seller seems very professional, look at his feedback:eek:

So he gets my business for being a good business man. Makes sense🙂 and it's costing me about $25 less🙂

Try $5 or less at your local Goodwill or other thrift store. Be sure to check shorts for stains.
