Quoted message said:The ride went just beautifully with no spill. Absolutely no problem though I
haven't had chance to disengage while climbing up or emergency breaking. I
think I was overly worried about it after all. Thanks all!
I am an extremely defensive clipless rider. I try to anticipate any situation
where I might get in trouble and unclip prior to that situation. For example:
1. Riding on a multi-use trail where children are present. I declip ahead of
time with one foot.
2. Approaching anyplace there might be sand while on the road bike.
3. Approaching traffic lights, stop signs and similar places.
4. Other similar situations.
I might be overly cautious, but so far it has served me well. No spills last 5
years since my first two within a month of getting the clipless.
I am curious about your statement regarding emergency breaking and unclipping?
Did I miss something? Are you using clipless on coaster brakes? Otherwise,
why would it make any difference being clipped or unclipped on an emergency
braing situation?
