Hi,
I've been using clipless pedals for a few months,
and I noticed I have some pain in my left knee only.
Maybe after one hour of riding.
Not big pain, but it stays till next day or so.
Is there any adjustement to be done ?
Any way to test id the adjustement is right?
Thank you.

The best thing to do, is to get fitted on your bike. it is between $100.00 to $150.00, but it will be worth every dime. But, if you want to check the position of your pedals, follow this: get on your trainer and pedal for a few minutes.stop your cranks at 3:00 o'clock. then, without moving the cranks, bring your knee all the way until it touches your top tube . have someone drop a weight attached to a string (make this up before you get on the bike, of course) from the front of your knee to the pedal. the weight must be touching (hanging) the front of the crank or a little behind (not more than 2mm). assuming that your seat in in the right position, you can adjust the cleats back and forth until you reach the masurements i mentioned above. I was fitted on my bike and it made a big difference. 😎

Thank you.I would agree with the other post, get fitted. I too was having pain in my right knee only; I even went to the doctor. The best he could tell me was it's my ITB (iliotibial band) rubbing over the knee. I started various stretch and it helped. I soon went and got properly fitted on my bike and haven’t had a problem since 😄.

You have not mentioned whether or not your pedals have any float. If so, how much. Depending on what pedals you have, the degree of float can vary.
I have a set of Time pedlas and Look pedals. The Time pedals do not have any float. I also had knee pain. It went away as soon as I started using the Look pedals.
The May issue of the Bicycling magazine (page 108) had some pointers for various pain experienced while riding. If the pain is in the back of the knee, lower your saddle. For front and side pain, raise the saddle. Pain on the outside only, move the saddle forward. Check the cleat alignment on your shoes. the balls of your feet should be directly over the axle.
Try these before spending a penny on custom fitting, which is no guarrantee it will make your riding pain free.
Hope this helps. -
some bike shops also just let you do a cleat adjustment for around $30, that cured all of my knee problems.

Thanks all for answers.
I could not imagine it is so much science in some simple pedals.
