  1. I'm 22 and since I was 18 i've had joints that click and crack loads. It's
not painful or anything but I've been doing light weights for past 6 months
now and my right shoulder that clicks the most when doing wide rotations has
started to hurt. I don't know if the pain is the muscle or liagment all I
know is that my movement in it is becoming restricted, any advice?

  2. You have bone cancer, and approx 3 months to live.

  3. Sometimes my joints "pop", but that's because I didn't clean out all
the seeds before I rolled it.
In your case I'd say Chondroitin/glucosamine is for you.

  4. nice

  5. I suffer from dry skin, would this be related to the lack of water retention
in my cartilage then? Also do I need to take this stuff for life or will a
year's dose work for a few years after taking this stuff?

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on television. 🙂

The usual non-medicine therapy for joint clicks is to put the joint
through a full range of motion without weights for high repetitions.
This can break up deposits in the joint and restore a fuller range of
motion without clicks. A general guideline is one repetition for each
year of your age for healthy joints, and hundreds of repetitions for
    problem joints.

Some pops and clicks are caused by deposits in the joints, but others
are tendons and the like snapping in ways they shouldn't, in which case
increased flexibility and sometimes increased strength in opposing
    muscles can help.

I recommend you read up on the subject - Pavel Tsatsouline and Steve
Maxwell both have good videos and books about this.
    http://www.kbnj.com/sj.htm is Pavel's "Super Joints",
http://www.kbnj.com/ris.htm is Pavel's "Relax Into Stretch", and
http://www.stevemaxwell.com will lead you to his joint mobility
tape/dvd. I wouldn't attempt to fix this solely on your own - a
doctor's visit is a good idea, and if the doctor says it's nothing too
serious and you can try to work on it yourself, then I'd get one or more
of the above things and try some of what they recommend. Thomas Kurz,
http://www.stadion.com, also has materials you can buy, and all three
have some articles on their web sites you can read for free.

  7. High protein, lots of veggies and fruits will improve joint quality,
while refined sugars and excess startches tend to put the body in a
state of inflammation, including the joints.

I would suggest trying a wider variety of different exercises. I feel
that the body doesnt respond well to constantly doing the same
exercises for extended periods. Kind of like how walking on dirt paths
is better for your ankles/knees/hips then walking on concrete...the
variations in the surface are more suitable to our anatomical structure
    than uniformity.

Ask your doctor. We can't even see (peering in through our monitors)
what part of the shoulder is hurting you. We also don't have medical
degrees, aside from those we scribbled with crayons. There are lots of
things that could cause clicking and pain in a shoulder, some minor,
some serious. Go ask your doctor about your specific problem.

I would probably suggest a physio over the local doctor. Every doctor I have
ever seen about an injury tells me to rest and thats about it.

I've noticed that my left knee snaps after doing leg extensions (I do
them about 4 times a year) and after I do either ATG front or back
squats (20 rep squats). But, I experienced them tonight after doing
rack squats with my normal PL wide stance after a triple at 475. I
haven't done rack squats in over a year and a half but am wondering
why this happens. I do get knee pain on occasion also but not when
the knee snapping. The usually feel pretty good when that is
    happening. What's up with that?

You did something you hadn't done in a while, so you've lost a bit of
the specific range of motion the movement requires. Unless there's a
medical indication to the contrary, returning to doing it regularly
might be all you need to make the problem go away. Hip and ankle
flexibility can play a part in this, too - if your hip or ankles are
tighter, it might be making your knee travel a slightly different path.
IOW, you didn't move it, so you lost a bit of it - at least that's what
    it sounds like to me.

My take on snapping joints that don't hurt - if you made them snap
enough, they'd hurt. My right shoulder does this, and I usually try to
work on the flexibility of it every morning, trying to get the snap out
of certain ROM movements I do by trying to stay lose as I move it.
Every once in a while I'll try to just push through the movement without
trying to get rid of the snapping, and every time I do that, it hurts
    for a few days afterwards.

I've been lucky in years past in this regard: very good GP who referred
me on to a sports medicine specialist/rheumatologist that works with
professional athletes. I'm sure David Cohen could probably alter my
perceptions and inform me just how rare such a good combination is :-)

No. The snapping occurs after the movement...sometimes for a day or
    so.

I've noticed that my left knee snaps after doing leg extensions (I

There's nothing magical about any particular squat form or rep scheme.
Some of easier on most knees than others but anything you don't do
regularly can still cause pops, squeaks, grinds, etc., if you haven't
done it for a while. My knees make more noise on ATG narrow squats than
they do on wide ones - it just means I should be doing more of them or
other joint work to get the kinks out, e.g., when I used to ride a bike
a lot, my knees were better.
