  1. I am looking at cleats for my wifes look delta pedals, what does degrees of float mean? I notice that different cleats have different degrees of float. is this important? she is new to roadbikes and clip on pedals if that makes any difference.

  2. Float is the amount of rotation the cleat/pedal allows your foot to achieve as opposed to a rigid fixed position. I think the average is about 6 or 7 degrees.

  3. So as I am understanding this, a 0 degree cleat would be a fixed position on the pedal?

If she's new, get her the grey cleats, +/-4.5 degrees float.

  6. Thank you guys for the info! This site is very helpful!
