How tight do you put them on? I put lock tite and then
tighten them until I can't move the wrench.

closest standard wrench? That'll do it quick.

Can you clean any caked-in dirt out of the hole? That's what
we had to do to remove my old cleats. Once the dirt was
totally cleared out, it was a piece of cake.

Almost every time I've replaced cleats, I've had to take
my shoes over to my friend's house to have the bolts
drilled out.

When it comes to bicycle and bicycle-related fixin', a
sawzall, monkey wrench, and sledgehammer will get just about
any job done.

You could also get a drill and, say, a 1/4" bit, drill
through the bolt's head until it pops off, and remove the
threaded bit with pliers.
