Well, I was out with a decent sized group in terain unfamilar to me when I cut a corner to sharp and ended up in the ditch on the side of the road with my new trek 2300 on top of me. Aside from feeling horrible about such a careless blunder, I bent my front bontrager rim. Can I straighten the wheel or if nothing else can I salvage the the rest of the wheel and only replace the 40$ or 50$ rim???
Please help me in cleaning up my bike and getting me out riding again.
ROFL i'm glad this post is not about what i thought it was when i saw the title😄 😄
fixing the bent rim will depend on the severity of the bend, little flat spots and bends can be fixed but any major pretzel work will need a new rim
now for the really bad news, you can probably reuse the rest of the wheel but rims from non standard / prebuilt wheels like the bontragers often cost a fortune, a normal rim may be $50-100 but expect to pay a lot more for a replacement, juat ask anyone who has paid mega bucks for Ksyrium spokes!
