Cleaning a Carbon Frame with what?

What's the surface coating? Is it just the epoxy of the composite
lay-up? Is it some sort of clear coat? Epoxy is resistant to a lot
of things once it's cured but I'd be tempted to go with warm soapy
water and elbow grease, at least to start with.

I'd use a dab of petrol on a cloth, coz I've normally got some to hand.

WD40, white spirit or meths. Definitely not acetone/nail polish
remover.

White spirit works and hasn't done any visible harm to my carbon forks.

Meths is not so effective on sticky gunk.

Usually a clear epoxy finish, I think - mine is. There must be UV
inhibitors in it.

And don't use abrasives - it will scratch and haze quite easily.
