another DNF for David Millar- I've heard about using racing for training
but is he well advised to base his season around the Tdf prologue and
the WC ITT?

he ride the TDF or the Vuelta this year?

Oscar could certainly fulfill the role that Heras filled for Lance in

Geez, no wonder nobody wants to do the race anymore. Even today's
training ride did a more professional job of promptly retrieving
riders who go over the edge on West Alpine Road.

They've been repaving that road for a while. Is it still missing
pavement? Last time I was up it, there were a few fairly long sections of
dirt, but a thin covering over a hard base. You know, just the thing to
encourage slides. A couple of them were in some of the steeper sections.
It's a fun climb, too.

I think he needed a change of scene (that and he had some problem with a
boil last year) and clearly Phonak is working well for him. Rather than
pointlessly argue, why not just follow his progress in the Dauphine all
week, that should speak volumes.

remember how easily and unselfishly Sevilla began working for Valverde
at the Vuelta last year, perhaps you can then appreciate what I meant by
that comment.

No, I know what you mean. I like Oscar Sevilla and most of the other Spanish
riders as well. I particularly like Pena and Beltran. I see that the French
are slowly coming back into the game so I hope they're recovering from all
of their years of bad luck. I don't see another Hinault but then they do pop
up unexpectedly.

Valverde and Cunego are a couple of riders about which there will be plenty
of talk and action but I think that they are in the wrong time for them and
expect someone better to smother them about the time that Armstrong is done.
