is cinnamon powder the same as ground cinnamon? My mom just found a
home remedy for weight loss and it says to use cinnamon powder, but it
cannot be found in any of the local supermarkets.

have heard it recommended to border-line insulin resistant diabetics as
an aid to sugar metabolism. The how and the why were never explained.
Apparently you have to take a rather large amount of the stuff in order
to have any effect - way more than the average person would add to a
day's worth of coffee, applesauce and oatmeal - hence the availability
of cinnamon capsules in the herbal supplements aisle. -

RFC (this newsgroup) that too much cinnamon can be toxic and result in
lethal consequences. Question is, how much is toxic?Sky, who doesn't know the answer (sorry)

Actually, cinnamon was found to have a benefit if you're
insulin-resistant... which DOES aid weightloss! Not by cutting
calories, but by helping persuade your body not to pack away every
single carbohydrate it comes across... It won't help somebody who just
wants to lose a few pounds but if you have a real medical condition it
can help. I seem to recall that it took at least a teaspoon full twice
a day, which is a heck of a lot of cinnamon, hence the capsules! -
