How was Chocfest? I had hoped to be there, but it was not to be, events as ever overtook me. I heard rumours that a fair few unis would be going. Did I miss much?

It has become obvious to some, that I have little directional control, especially along the Y-axis.
paid my 6 quid then found out there was nothing organised for uni's. no hall some people played outside. i can do that at home [it was freezing]no goup ride long way to travel to a none event went home at 2.0 pm don't suppose uni's where in the show. not into juggling
Last time I went to chocfest was probobly about 4 years ago and they had a small hall where the canteen was set out for unicycing, didnt they do that again? yeh it was wet outside last time but there was so many unicycists there it was funny.

I went and really enjoyed it; however, it wasn't really a convention for unicycles. There were a fair few unis but they seemed to be mainly outside and, as far as I know, there was no hall set aside for unis.
As for the show, it was excellent and one of the acts was a group of youngsters who included plenty of unicycling in their act.

Yes, as a unicycling event it was rather low key generally although there was one high spot: the unicycling gladiators was of a particularly high standard ( my performance excluded of course....Scottish Graham literally scared me into falling off.) Quite a few people are getting pretty damn good. Does that Zylan ever lose? He won the first, and the second, despite getting his shoelace irretrievably wrapped around the pedal. Neat work in round two when he grabbed a spectator's juggling club and threw it perfectly under someone's wheel causing a UPD. But we got the little so & so in round three when 5 unicyclists ganged up on him from the start.
Nice bit of unicycling content from the Yorkie Bar kids in the show...well done to them, they had obviously worked hard..
I didn't see Leigh there, I didn't really look though, I was busy enjoying myself.
There were no organised rides but I had loads of fun just playing around outside doing some bits of trials type stuff and generally catching up with a few distant friends. I'm not really into freestyle riding so nearly all my riding is outdoors anyway so not having a dedicated hall didn't bother me.
Was good to see Dark Tom and Miark and everyone else. Big thank you to Tom for all the help with crank grabs/Pedal grabs etc.
Will see anyone who goes at ballring next weekend (I know it is unimeet but I enjoy ballring)

How did the spectator react to that? I'd be pretty [censored] if someone threw one of my clubs under a unicycle wheel.
I would fall off before actually touching the club! clubs are expensive and nothing i would throw under a unicycle lol
Trev
you should have gone to the last manchester convention, They were giving clubs away as convention passes.
Roger D even crushed a load of them by hopping on them in the game to come up with something inventive to do with the pass. I think he killed 5 of them. They were only flare clubs though so not too hard to destroy.

Once night at juggling club a lady dropped one of her clubs, it bounced and came to rest in the path of where I was riding.
*I* didn't touch the club... but my tyre tried to run over it 0.2 seconds after the club came to rest. The tyre stopped, sending me flying over from my heavy 6ft giraffe.
i went to chocfest 2 years ago it was the first time i met up with other unicyclists i was very impressed .we had a hall ,loads of games, went on a group ride ,i really enjoyed it .this is why this year was such a disapointment ,i've been spoilt

I think it might have been that Roger was not there, and no one took over the uni-organising to the level of previous years.
