  1. I had the great luck of finding some lo-carb chili at the local store.
Chili was one thing I really missed. It's a bit pricey, but buying LC
hasn't exactly been cheap. It's a nice break from the norm. I also found
    this brand online too.

It's better to make your own.

That's up to you if you choose to cook. I put the post out there for people who are looking for alternatives. Myself I’d rather buy it, but maybe my time is more precious that yours. :-P

Is your health and enjoyment of life not worth the time to learn how to
cook delicious healthy foods? There is no nore satisfying aspect to
life than the creation and the consumption of great tasting and healthy
    food.

You are saving your "precious" time so that you can live a dreary life
with barely palatable manufactured foods and generally poorer health.
    You have some interesting priorities.

Just what is it you people do not get! >:o A newgroup is for information and support, neither of which you or Pat have provided. If I had wanted your opinion I would have asked for it, but I didn't. I put the post out there for people who are looking for alternatives. BTW, Las Vegas has some of the best food you'll ever find. Your statment on poor health is at best just your BS. :-! This NG doesn't support people or the LC idea anymore, most spend all their time finding ways to snip someone or to stick there nose where doesn't belong. People like you are why posts never stay on topic, we are always defending ourselfs against the onslaught of [censored]. That's just sad :'( This newgroup has really gone to [censored].

Sounded like information to me... if you like it, use it. If you
    don't lose it.

I happen to like one or two store bought brands, without beans,
but I much perfer homemade. Besides if I make it, I have a
    better
idea what is really in it.

Yes, it is. Unfortunately, this group has become a pulpit for many
people who think everyone should live their lives exactly like them, and
if you don't, something is wrong with you.

Fortunately, most newsreaders have kill files.

Oh I get it. I get that the original post was just something I found and thought some people would like it. but No people would rather [censored]. My reply to LC has nothing to do with you, so why do you stick your nose in it. This is why I left NG's a year ago in the first place. Forums tend to stay on topic way more and have 100 times more content. You see Bob, you came in here to fight and that's all your looking for
    A) this is none of your business and you weren't involved in the original posts
    B) your post has nothing to do with Chili C)Your just looking for someone to fight with and I'm it TODAY. Tommorrow it will be someone else.
D)Which makes my point about how posts never stay on topic all the more valid. I originally posted to add to the group. I have yet to see a reply that has anything to do with "chili" or anything that's remotely "constructive" =-O . It's all been useless content. Your right! you can post anything you want, but at the end of the day, Did your words make a difference? Did you help someone? Do you feel better?

  14. Let's just end this thread it's quite dead and off target:

I won't post anymore and then people won't have anything to [censored] about.
I've LC'ed for years now and probably know in's and out's than most. I
just thought I might add a item or two to the group, but I can see it's
just a waste of time. To bad though, My wife who's a CCRN, has a lot of
valuable insite and information to LC'ing since she has worked for
Mayo(10yrs plus), who is taking an active role in LC'ing for their
pateints. I had thought I might share these kind of things, but not with
the constant backlashing(it's not worth the effort). I don't need or
want to defend every thread I post. Oh well, at least I still get the
    benefits. BYE!

I find eating low-carb to be much LESS expensive overall. Certain
specialty items (like erythritol) are individually more expensive, but I
don't get them that often. If you mostly stick to the basics, then you
aren't buying the convenient frozen meals/entrees, cereals, candies,
cookies, chips, pasta, etc. However, if you are ALSO buying all that
for other people in the household PLUS extra specialty stuff for
yourself, I can see where that might add to expenses. Only yesterday, I
was marveling at how quick and easy my grocery shopping has become. I
rarely just wander up and down aisles anymore picking out whatever
strikes my fancy -- I stick to the edges of the store to get meat, dairy
and produce with only occasional targeted forays into an interior aisle
for something like a spice or coffee or CarbSmart ice cream. Ahhhh, so
    much quicker and easier!
