Competitive athletes are always seeking ways to improve their performance. The results of a new study indicate that they need only look in their closets. It seems athletes wearing red uniforms experience a slight advantage over those decked out in other colors. http://cl.exct.net/?ffcd16-fe56167170630c79701d-fe3116707360067f721073
I'll be dashing out to buy my red Rubino Pro tyres straight away....
On a similar topic - I remember when the Broncos started to wear a bizarro "away jersey" a few years ago. It was sky blue, turqoise-green, and purple. Apparently - it used the colours that most successful football teams use....
And I read a study once showing a statistically significant (there's that phrase again!) increase in penalties against teams that wear predominantly black uniforms...
I guess I'd better review my jersey choice come the next BLART ride...

Although, Arsenal and Manchester United are both red-uniformed teams. Man. U was the way team or something so they were wearing black, Arsenal kept their red jerseys.. guess who won?
Arsenal, in the red, over Man. U. in da black.. That should leave no doubt in your minds folks.. :P
hippy - now with mudguards and a bar bag.. oh the horror!!

bwahahahahah
photos! and for the occasion put on woolly socks with cords tucked in, bikeflag, welding glasses, fluoro vest and tranny in barbag 😄😄😄
I have always tried to wear inconspicuous colours in the crits as you always seem to remember the other riders in 'standout' colours. Grey or black might be the go for moi. not for commuting tho 🙄 the next time i go across someone's windscreen i want them to ACKNLOWLEDGE my (lack of) 'orthorotye'

When I try loading the panniers I'll take more pics.
I like black. It's stealthy. If they can't see you they can't aim for you! hehe
Hey, riding in London is FUN!!
I don't like having to lock my bike up everywhere and not having my toolbox makes working on it 'interesting' but drivers are, so far, heaps cooler here..
Signals are strange.. you get an amber before red but then another amber before it goes green! Bus lanes everywhere which are car free.. not sure what the rules are for me.. but I ride them if they are there. There are either no rules for bikes here or no one pays any attention coz riders go whereever the hell they want!!! Red? What red? No left turn? Huh? Not for me! Squeeze through here, squeeze over three lanes through here here and here and yep almost lost your mirror dude but not quite.. here.. hehe craziness! I'm not used to the traffic flow and signals and stuff yet and I don't quite know what I can and can't get away with.. but it's fun finding out!! 😄
We'll get you in a bright yellow jersey with royal blue knicks in races eventually!
Coaching meeting on Monday with BBN and Hawthorn people there, and there may be some interest in team racing next season - organised and with a formalised structure. I'm agitating for it because I want it to happen 🙂
Also a proposal for a change to the combine/open invitation mess is being drafted, wait & see ...

No, that's just because Arsenal is a much better team. Man U is full of pretty boys.

phffttt!!! only reason Man-U didnt win is cos Van Niselroy had one of his few shockers and missed 3 opp's that i coulda got. Luckily he nevar does that when wearin 'the orange' 😄😄😄 (then again Berkamp was next to useless too) staying up half the night to watch it is really feckin annoying when you realise you have done it to watch a penalty shootout!$@#@!!!!!!

On Star Trek, red got you shot/vapourised/nuked. Interesting psychology.
Back to bicycles; currently hunting down red bar tape to match the Rubino's.

I was in Warwick for that run, and didn't watch the match, but Mum gave me the full report.
One of the guys left the Saturday night dinner/presentation early to go to his hotel and watch the match. I joked, "well, seeing as you have to be up early, racing, it's bound to be double extra time and a penalty shoot out..."
That guy kept giving me weird looks on Sunday morning.

Doesn't it go red->red & amber->green->amber and back to red
Sort of like a count down, so you can launch immediately 🙂

You cant really speed on a bike. They are exempt for the speeding laws over their. Not the council ones tho. Strange but true.
