Amazingly well. I must have missed last week's check-in somehow, but
I lost four pounds last week -- and another four pounds this week! I
couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale this morning. I
wouldn't be surprised if it all goes away by next week.
But in the meantime, my final total for August is 10 pounds.

I've been keeping to 1300 calories a day and 40 to 45 grams of
carbohydrate. Seems to work pretty well. I've been eating berries
and pistachio nuts as an evening snack. And FitDay is my friend.

<hanging head> Final is 191. What doesn't work for me is to not count
calories. Sigh.

I am down to 284, for a total of six lost. I actually saw 282 there for
a few days, but you know how it is with water.
What worked? FitDay. Also, I took myself back to the induction list of
foods for about five days. As I've mentioned before, some kinds of
carbs (sugar, flour, corn sugars) do something to my emotional
thermostat and my impluse control goes right out the window. It's good
to have the emotions toned down again. No bread. No bread. No bread.
(Oddly, it turns out that one of my paternal uncles has just been
diagnosed with celiac this past week.)
Please sign me up for the next challenge. My goal is another five down.
Thanks for this; it helps a lot.
April.

I respectfully decline to post this information. It's been a horrible
month.
I won't be participating in the September Challenge. I just don't know
what the future holds right now.

Well, I made my goal plus this month, but I'd hoped for a little more.
Getting antsy to see 200 and then 100 pounds down. Dang TOM at the end of
the month, too, so I'm up in water weight.
This month wasn't as good as others, but I was still successful. My clothes
are definitely getting looser, so I know I'm still losing inches. Don't
know why the scale doesn't show it... Next month, I'm upping my exercise
since that kind of went awry with family stresses right now.
I bought the offline version of Fitday and I love it! So much faster than
tracking online, and it's got a few more features.

Made goal yesterday. 269, 6 lbs lost for August. I'm basically
bouncing around foor the month then around the 15-20 paying more
attention and dropping pretty consistently the second half of the
month. If I stay on track more I think I could lose a little better.
For september I'll maintain the same rate for the challenge, 6 lb

I'd like to score 9lbs but that depends upon me being really good and
maybe finding a higher activity level. In the meantime I'm happy with
my current rate. It is easy to keep up, I'm getting to enjoy foods
that I've always enjoyed eating and I just found that I can't shop in
big and tall mens store anymore cause their stuff really is too big. I
just bought a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans, 42 waist. Down 10 inches on
waist.

Maint. not counting (CCLL=50-60)
This morning I weighed in at 242. Even after my vacation in Austin/San
Antonio I still made my August goal of 245 - plus a couple of extra
pounds for good measure.
At 242, that makes a grand total of 150 pounds gone in a little over
10 months!
For the month of September, let's shoot for 9 pounds. That will take
me down to 233, just 8 pounds from my goal weight of 225.
And I have a beautiful new motivation to stay on the program - her
name is Mary!
Good luck to everyone!

Down a total of 6 pounds. My weightloss has slowed down. I am still hanging
in there though. I am making this my way of eating for good. It is still
working for me. Did not make my Aug. goal of 11 pounds to 155. Came up 5
pounds short.

Hi Carol Ann,
It's been 1 month and 5 days since I started Atkins. I'm sorry to say
that I've hardly lost 1lb during the month.
Two weeks into the diet (induction) I was 5-7lbs down, but have seemed
to have stalled and even gained weight since then.
The GOOD news is that I'm still about 1.5 inches down at my waist, and
several people have told me I seemed to have lost weight - it may be
the workouts that are converting fat -> muscle.
So I would like it if you would put down 1lb and 1inch down for me.
I'm trying hard to get out of the post-induction stall now.
Thanks for your support.
Regards.

Hi Carol,

Not so good. My weight fluctuated a lot (+- 1.5 lbs) and I ended
at 288 - up one lb instead of down 4 lbs ....
Quoted message said:What worked? What didn't?
Well, still too many calories, I suppose.
One week I exercised quite a lot (burned an extra 3500 kcal),
but the one other week I had to work very long hours
and hardly did any exercise. (The remaining two weeks were rather normal
at around 2000 extra exercise kcals burned.)
One week I cut out tea and the one 4 oz glassof dry red wine
that I usually have with my lunch and dinner and only drank
plain water (very boring...) - I discontinued that, since it did not seem
to have helped much either.
As per 1st Sept. I have joined a gym and will start lifting weights
- maybe that will improve my stats.
I will try to shed 4 lbs in Sept, from 288 down to 284.
Take care,
Hamburger
260.5 down 10.5. This after a 5 day trip to the Atlantis in the Bahamas.
We had the meal plan, which included breakfast and dinner buffets. I
enjoyed myself without going crazy (the waffles at breakfast were
outstanding), up 3 during the trip - all gone plus 3 more since. I can't
believe that at 260lbs (I'm 6'1" tall), people are telling me I look good.
Everything relative I guess. Goal for 9/30 is 248. Still have a ways to
go...

240.
I regained some of what I lost for a total loss of only 1.3 pounds for
August. What worked was going to the gym 5 times a week. What didn't work
was eating lemon bars from Corner Bakery. I love them but need to find a low
carb alternative.

Aaaarrrggghhh!
After meeting my 229 (5 pound) goal in mid-August, I've bounced back
and forth between 229 and 232.
I ended Aug at 231, down 3 pounds from the start of the month, but two
pounds short of my goal.

Don't know!!!
If I knew what worked before that isn't working now, I'd fix it.

I didn't see this before. I think I had 170 as my August goal, and didn't get
below 171 until September. Considering that I went on vacation in August, and
ate some very bad things, I was happy to not gain weight last month! LOL!
