That sounds rather uncomfortable to me, and (without boasting too much) I don't think it would fit ;-)
take the parks chain tools and putem ina vice! then place lands on either side to hold the chain up straight, 1x4 lands held off course by two angle irons set into the vise. or chop a slot into a 1x4" to fit the parks or...
maybe the force of an adjuster [censored] throws the entire design scheme of balance? permanently and fatally damaging the side links cups?

i lay down last night listenbing to the sopund of hundreds of cyclists turning their parks chain tool handles 90 degrees. actually what i herd was two kids chiding me for "being" to picky! that the tools is used simply by screwing the pin and against the pin, yelling geronimo, and screwing rapidly pushing the chain pin out!
mustabeen dirtkids!
turd hand advised on this and i listened. then one day, exasperated! i screwed the pin out (with my parks $11)not wildley but i didn't keep the pin directly centered on pin whilst screwing aahhhh!! aaaahhhh sheeeeett! that pin failed first.
then im allowed the chain to not lay perfectly straight across the tools land proper!
and that pin bushing failed first.
chain tool mods increase chaining pleasure and reliability.

All that said, I do applaud datakoll's putterings around, And his sharing of ideas.
