  1. Hi all I have a newer XT cranks set .I have trouble With chain suck the crank set isn't even 1
season old and I didn't ride much this year .I read some reviews about these cranks and they weren't
good.I fixed the creaking by putting grease between the rings this solved that .But if I shift from
granny to middle it sucks up bad I looked for to much grease and cleaned them good .Should I just
put a different set on the cranks. Its the splined BB.And if so what are some good rings .I use to
have a Race Face set but the square tapered arms wore out wouldn't stay tight. This is a 4 bolt set
    up .Thanks .

Keep the cranks and replace the rings. I just put a RaceFace 32T ring and bashguard on my '01 XT
cranks. Nice setup. 104mm BCD 4 arm spider.

Mike - Log? What log? ;^)

  3. you sure its the rings? my chain sucks on my xt rings when it needs lube. when lubed, it's perfect.

Mine did the same. Now the middle ring is pretty worn and everything seems to work fine. I think
it's an issue with the XT rings, I think I'll get either Raceface or Blackspire to replace the
    original ones.
