Chain Question

There are a couple of schools of thought on chain length:

1) Have enough chain to run big-big if it happens;
2) Have the derailleur cage vertical when using the big
chainring and smallest sprocket.

Therefore you don't need to do anything.

Chain length is determined by the largest combination
usually. If you slip your chain over the large ring and the
largest rear and you still have more than one pair of links
extra then, sure, shorten it.

Before double-spring derailleurs were common, we sized chain
by finding the most chain the derailleur could hold without
sagging in the small-small. That might be what you're thing
of. If you do that, check it with a shift to the big-big
before riding!

Increasing the dimension of the small chainring doesn't
affect the length of the chain at all. Only if you've (1)
DECREASED the inner ring or (2) INCREASED the outer ring is
a change possible necessary. (1) may require you to shorten
the chain and (2) may require you to lengthen it.
