Is it just me, or has the entire cycling industry been duped into thinking that the most expensive chain lube on the market is automatically the best? I mean, come on, some of these high-end lubes are approaching the price of a decent set of wheels! Meanwhile, the pros are still using whatever they can get their hands on, often mixing and matching different products to create their own secret sauce.
So, whats the real deal? Are we just paying for fancy packaging and marketing hype, or is there actually some magic in those $50 bottles of lube that makes them worth the cost? Im calling BS on the whole pro-level marketing gimmick. If a pro is using it, its because they got a sweet sponsorship deal, not because its actually the best product on the market.
And dont even get me started on the ceramic and nanotech claims. Is anyone actually testing this stuff, or are we just taking the manufacturers word for it? Ive seen some independent reviews that are clearly just regurgitating the marketing copy, without any actual scientific testing or critical analysis.
So, lets get real here. Whats the best chain lube for pros, and is it really worth breaking the bank? Or are we just getting ripped off by clever marketing and our own desire to emulate the pros?
