  1. Well there seems to be a debate on diet and correlation to living
longer. Well I took out a book called Hungry Planet, this is a photo
journal with what a typical family eats per week in all different
countries. The country that had a lot more centurians people who live
to 100 or more was Okinowa (spelling correct?) Japan. So my father
is somewhat a really smart scientist and I asked him why just to hear
what a genius may say. He said because they don't mix breed. This may
be the answer!!! So maybe it is not the diet, but how they have their
off spring. I posted this due to the few post below

No, it is not correct. If you have the book, why couldn't you take the
time to look it up? It is Okinawa.

    So my father

You really need to learn a few things, starting with *very* basic
grammar, simply to give you the ability to communicate clearly. It is
hard to believe that English is your first language. It is not
surprising that you are having difficulty in finding a new job, most
employers expect an English standard of at least grade school level.

Your father, if quoted/understood by you correctly, is an idiot,
seemingly bigoted or else extremely naive, certainly not a genius. Many
races have very little in the way of "mixed breed" (sic) and do not have
    any notable claim to longevity.

BTW, for future reference, offspring is one word.

  5. So my father is somewhat a really smart scientist...
--you must have many of your mother's traits.

He said because they don't mix breed.
--nope...check that...your family tree is intact

  6. Longevity does seem to be an hereditary trait. If a community genetically
coded for long life avoided breeding outside their community, then the trait
    would continue.

  7. hey thats what he said. I did not say that. As far as grammar, I am
always rushing so don't read it if you don't like it. In fact I was
just offered two jobs . So I need to decide what to do. Now to be
honest , they are not the most high class by any means, and don't pay
more that $13 -$14 dollars an hour , so that is not the best offer for
    where I live.

As far asJapan, maybe that part they don't mix. I don't know, never
been there. I can't say either way thats why I thru it out. You don't
need to insult me. I really am getting use to abuse here huh??? Oh
well, I am an honest person who can admit when I am wrong, so maybe I
    am wrong.

  8. racist, my father, never thought of it that way.

  9. david , you don't need to insult me, you can be nice and express your
views and come across more sincere. Thank you M

    Believe me, I am sincere.

If you are an immigrant who had no access to western schooling then I
apologise, otherwise, I have little time for you. I have no patience for
people who continuously make very basic mistakes and who make no effort
    to improve themselves. You wrote"

"So my father is somewhat a really smart scientist and I asked him why
just to hear what a genius may say."

Can't you see what is wrong with your sentence construction? It is
    almost gibberish.

    Then you wrote:

"I posted this due to the few post below"

What is that supposed to mean? Below what?

You say that you are "always rushing" and that excuses your poor
grammar. If you have time to write, why can't take just a little more
time and do it properly? If you can't be bothered to at least attempt
write coherently, why should I be bothered to have patience with you?

To top it off, your "genius" father gives an ill considered, totally
invalid response. Almost all Asian people, with few exceptions (and the
Okinawans are one) have little interracial breeding, China and Korea in
particular. They don't experience above average longevity. Most
    "geniuses" would realise that.

You not only (after just reading a book discussing the area) can't spell
Okinawa, but you refer to it as a country. Okinawa is one of the
Japanese Ryukyu Islands, not an independent country. Okinawans however,
although now Japanese by nationality, do not have Japanese ancestry.
They don't even look Japanese. They have a mixed heritage, basically the
opposite what your father was supposing with relation to purity of
    "breed" being responsible for longevity.

Effectively you exemplify one of the main problems with newsgroups, you
are quite happy to post something that you haven't bothered to ensure is
    true, well considered, or coherent.

I spent time in Okinawa many years ago, as well as in other parts of
rural Japan, and found the Okinawan diet considerably different. I don't
think I had ever eaten as much saturated fat, wok fried, and mostly pork
based. It was tasty though, memorably so.

    Regards

    David

Geez, sorry to burst your bubble, but your father doesn't seem to be
    as smart as you thought.

the newsgroup. Please learn to quote.

What? What does that even mean? Are you calling someone here a racist,
are you replying to someone named "racist" (can't tell because you don't
quote) or is your father either a racist or named Racist? And "thought
of it that way" isn't explained. Thought of what in what way? I, for
one, do not need to get laid, nor am I being mean here, but I have to
say your posts would be a lot easier to follow and reply to if they made
some sense. You say you're too rushed to use sentences and words that
actually convey what you are trying to say. If you're too rushed, then
don't post. It's just like real life. If you're too rushed to swallow
your food before speaking to someone, then don't talk to them.

In fact, in domesticated livestock, cross-breeding is known to improve
strength, health, disease resistance, and other traits that would
increase longevity. I don't suppose humans would be any different.

Bravo! Put the arrogant shut-in in your killfile. As to your original
question. My response as always is, who wants to live an extra few years in
boring miserly misery? It always should be quality of life over sacrificing
too much pleasure for longevity, don't-cha-think? I for one wouldn't be
happy eating grass, tree bark, and roots so I can extend my life drooling in
a wheelchair at 117 years old. My dad is 92, drives a Camaro convertible,
and has a girlfriend close to my age! He never took a vitamin in his life or
has he ever used sunscreen. He eats bacon and eggs almost everyday, and is
quite sexually active. How can you lecture him on his diet or lifestyle?
More Japanese living to 100 is fine.... if you're Japanese.

  20. Obviously Marengo couldn't imagine that anyone would refer to him needing to
get laid, since everyone knows his broken down old body makes it impossible
    in any case.
