I got next week's tv guide, and I checked the sports listings as always. I heard that the Sunday stages on OLN would not air live (We get OLN canada which has the same tour schedule), because CBS was allowed first crack at it on sundays, due to some idiotic copyright agreement. So as it turns out, CBS and SBK (Boston) are airing the tour de france- ONE HOUR'S worth on sunday at 3pm (eastern). And because of that, those of us watching on OLN can't get to see the Alpe D'huez until 10:30 pm. So that means if you don't want to find out who won, you have to wait until then. And all for one stupid hour that CBS had to have- whch means highlights of the whole week and maybe 10 minutes of the actual stage. I am not impressed at all. I can't believe OLN agreed to that and screwed their viewers. I heard they are hoping for a different deal next year, and I really hope they do so, because that really sucks.
However, for canadian viewers, I discovered that Canal evasion, which is basically a french OLN with the same coverage, seems to be exempt from this stupid agreement, because i think they will air the sunday coverage at 8pm. I checked their website and they are also not offering it live on sundays, but the taped coverage will be at 8pm not at 10:30.

One might want to check to see who actually owns OLN. I don't know but there may be a connection inda like Disney, ABC, ESPN....

Comcast owns OLN. I don't know if thre's an association between Comcast and CBS, but I believe that Comcast is the parent corporation (i.e. not owned by another company) so it's not a direct relationship.

As I recall, last year Canadian OLN did not black out Sunday coverage and broadcast the stages live as it had been doing the remainder of the week. It was only the US OLN that blacked out coverage due to CBS having the rights. However, they did not advertise this by posting it on their schedule. I suggest that you tune in OLN Sunday morning just in case.

I might do that, but i checked the web site to be certain ,and OLN canada won't air the taped coverage until 10 30 pm. I wonder why so late. However, the french channel airs at 8 pm, so I'll watch it then, if it is indeed that same day's coverage.

The Sunday coverage for the last three Sundays will not run in Canada on OLCC (The Canadian version of OLN) until the evening.
And Yes, I know the second Sunday says 10:30 hrs, but I suspected that this was wrong and queried them about it and they confirmed my suspicioons. Their published schedule is in error and they said thay would correct it.
I don't know whether they did or not though as I didn't look!!

I checked the OLN Canada web page and they have coverage listed for Sunday morning live at 9:00 am eastern. But no replay at 10:30 pm. See tsn.cafeature.aspOpen ↗ for the schedule.

According to the Canal Evasion website: canalevasion.comemitourfrance.htmOpen ↗ they are showing all the stages live, always from 9am to the end of the stage. According to the OLN Canada site (sorry no link), this saturday's show starts at 8am (i assume they will show an hour extra of this important stage- same thing for the 9th, 13th and 16th stages). What i really like about the Canal Evasion coverage compared to OLN Canada, is that they only have commercials in 2 minute blocks instead of 4 or 5. This means about 30 minutes more coverage per stage. Of course the downside is no Paul, Phil and Bobke! Well i never expected all this cycling coverage in Canada so no complaints from me :-) Darius

So what was the error- does it air at 9 am or 10 30PM? And what about the next two? The last stage isn't that big, by then you know who's won.
