Strangely enough, my town of about 9000 people has a 330 metre, 45 degree sloped bitumen veledrome, with lights, that isn't used at all by anyone. Bit of a shame really. It was last raced on about 5 or 6 years ago. And what makes it worse is the BMX club has about 140 riders. Sign of the times I suppose.

Don't know about the local dialect in WA but I've overheard witty phrases in Victoria dealing with implantation of bar ends, d locks, QR's & associated bike components into various bodily orifices. 😄

You hang round with some strange people . . .
My then gf once implanted her U-Lock into a Saab convertible's offside front indicator after beery businessman in passenger seat felt the need to go the grope at some traffic lights. Plenty of cars to hide among in gridlocked traffic.

I don't know her, but I think I'm in love.

Hmm Reminds me of my motorbike days when a boot would be vigorously applied to the passenger side wing mirror with the accompanying shout "If you don't use it you don't need it!"

Did you watch the collie-donnybrook??
i have to say, i have lived in Albany and been around the traps in the south west and have never heard that term....

I've ridden the Collie-Donnybrook a few times, and one year I was the motorbike escort. (That was the year a young kid by the name of Henk Vogels won.) It's been going for over 75 years and must be one of the oldest races in WA.
