everyone that just has started racing will start in cat 5. you have to do at least 10 cat 5 races and then you will be upgraded to cat 4. then you must earn points by placing in the top 10. you can get your racing license at usacycling.org -

do i go for races for juniors in my age group or can i go to cat 5 races
