Cassette Question??

There should be no problems except possibly a problem with the chain being too short to make the big/big combination.

That's what I thought, if the chain currently fits my 53/25 combo do you think it will fit the 53/27? Or do I just need to try it and see? Also, does the rear DR need to be adjusted after switching? Sorry for the ignorant questions, I haven't worked on my bikes much myself, but figured something easy like this would be a good place to start🙂

Try it and see.No one knows how your chain was sized. You may have to fiddle with the RD B tension screw to get the top pulley to clear the bigger cog.

Thanks for the replies, do I just need the cassette lockring tool and a chainwhip (besides the know-how), as you've recomended to many others, Boudreaux, I am referencing Park Tools site for instruction.

Not much to it. Chainwhip and a lockring tool, and a wrench to turn the lockring tool.

an impact wrench with lockring tool will take them right off without
a chainwhip. Its analogous to removing a lug nut on a unsupported car wheel.

Come on... doesn't everyone use a 1/2 inch impact wrench when adjusting the derailler limit screws??? 😄

Depends on which hat you are wearing.None of mine say... fool, dunce, or idiot.

Cappy...derailleur screws which take a bit more finesse are best adjusted with
fine sawzall blade. Barge-troll adjusts his with that knarly black (with yellowish tint) finger nail...that is on the one hand that has fingers left.
