No crash, but I was riding like a total gumby..

The wheel only requires a minor true. I can do it but it needs
a service anyway so I'll probably get it done at the same
time. I'm 'droming it up tonight so I hope it doesn't get any
worse - I don't have a spoke spanner here. :-S

What sort of wheels? Did it need truing because of today's ride or was
it just made worse?

BTW, track wheels arrive shortly - my creation is almost complete.
Just need some cheap cranks 😉 I probably would've grabbed the Miche
seatpost but it's too short 🙁

Perhaps not, and if they were to carry so much shrapnel
in their bags, they wouldn't add it onto the normal
commute load and carry it 25k to work - on their race
bikes!

road bike is dumber still. Hitting the typical dodgy
Melbourne road repairs with this load and buckling the
rear wheel is adding fuel to the stupidity fire - you
need help boy!

The thing that counts though, is rain, hail, shine,
wheel and spinal damage - the coins made it! 😄

It was definately today's ride. They cop a hiding and were not
perfect but this was a much bigger wobble than I had before
today.

Not to worry, small stuff like that that doesn't sell I'm storing.
It's the bikes that take up the room I want to get rid of. I have
a dude who wants to swap a mod and some cash for the Zebdi
but it's not really enough and it would mean I just get another
bike I have to sell!!

What's a minor truing cost? I've got an MTB wheel giving me grief which
I just can't seem to get right truing in the frame (one of these days
I'll get a truing stand or set soemthing up myself). Was thinking of
dropping it into Peter Moore on my way in one morning and hoping it
won't cost much.

Was all this in the crumpler or bag of similiar description/appearance?

I've had to make a rule of tipping the bag upside down at least once a week to clear our the crud. Just after Christmas I cleaned the thing out & discovered $50+ in shrapnel. I've noticed crumplers tend to be a little Tardis - and attract copious amount of cat/dawg fur as well. Maybe they need to develop a new style of carrying device with less tendency to move through the time vortex & add a built-in animal fur remover. 😄

We charge 10-15 if the wheel's out of the bike, 15-18 if in, 20+ if it's a major ding or all the spokes need tightening. If you take the tyre off, we get it really, really true without you asking (+-.5 mm vs. +-1mm), or if you ask, we do it anyway for an extra 5 - 10. Concealed spoke nipples (Campag, et c.) an extra 5 - 10.

The RCTA publishes a guideline price list. Ring them up for a copy, it's not on the web yet.

hehe.. Hatchback loves to claw mine! He goes nuts chasing
the straps and burrowing underneath it in a psychotic kitty
rage.. maybe he can smell K-9?! :-D

The little internal pockets are great for resistance training..
As you said, coins just pile up and up until you 'realise, remove
and reduce' you commute time. :-)

Not having money fall out _is_ a good thing though, for sure!
