On the hill, yes.
At the swimming baths, no.

Um, can't see it would harm the camcorder in any way. But if the case is
very holster-like then probably best not to wear it near government
buildings or at demos...

What a strange question!
If it rains, and it's not waterproof - no....
Otherwise, why not?
Vibration etc isn't a problem. You might have a 'belt' on your rucksack that
may interfere with the holster, but otherwise, why not?

You could be arrested if the lens is facing up, especially when there are
*skirts* around :-)

I would pack it something waterproof unless someone still makes a
"weathercam".

In the days when video cameras used vidicon tubes (a kind of valve) the
advice was not to carry them facing down. The reason was that detritus left
in the tube from manufacture, or shaken loose through rough handling, could
fall onto the delicate photosensitive surface at the front, resulting in
spots and scratches on the image. Modern cameras are all solid-state and
cannot be damaged in this way.

It was an educational fillum I was making about the architecture of
changing rooms. I can't understand what all the fuss was about.
