Carrera Subway quick release wheel

Yes.

The 'noodle' (silver curved tube the cable passes through) can be pulled out
of one side of the vee-brake so they open wide enough to let the wheel out.

s'easy and it _is_ quick-release .. 😉

Also, you may have to unscrew the axle a tad to overcome the 'lawyers lips'
on the fork ends ... 😉

Without going into the shed to check my son's bike, I'm sure that there's a
quick release on the v-brakes to broaden the gap between the pads allowing
the wheel to pass freely between them. Thankfully his visits [1] from the
p*nct*re fairy are so rare that I've only had to remove the wheel once.
I've never had to remove the front wheel on my v-braked MTB so I can not
give a detailed account of the ease of releasing the brakes to facilitate
speedy wheel removal. It can be done. trust me - I'm a teacher ;-)
