The main branch, the path crosses the brook not long after the
carpark and runs up with the brook on the left. Looks like things
have changed.

Have not been up there for a while due to National Trust parking
bandits and a preference for walking the other non motorised hollows.

OK, so the path starts with brook on left. And currently it crosses
soon after the top car park. There is actually a smaller path which
stays on the right of the brook but walkers are encouraged to cross
over onto the the improved path.

Which side of the brook were your 1984 improvements?

Hi Adrian

No you're not imagining things . I've dug out a couple of photos from a walk
I did around there a couple of years ago which explain it . At the bottom of
the valley the stream is indeed on the left

further up the valley the road crosses the stream and the stream is on the
right like you saw ( I think it also crosses again further up if I remember
rightly ) . In fact the small road bridge is at the bottom right hand of the
photo if you look close .
