Using a Torque wrench to tighten my Bontrager Carbon Seat post how much torque should I apply. I have both a Carbon Frame bike and a Aluminum Frame bike are they different torque values for each? Seat collar is Aluminum on both.

You'll strip the threads in your collar before you'll hurt anything else. Just make the bolt snug and don't worry about it.

Whoa... you couldn't be more wrong. Maybe if the OP was using a 2mm-head bolt would it never hurt anything else, but 4mm bolts and larger, which are the typical size, will crush carbon and aluminum seatposts easily. -- Phil, Squid-in-Training

Orient the slit of the clamp opposite from the slit on the seat tube. This evens out the stresses on the seatpost.
The squid is not joking. Litespeed has a 6mm allen bolt on a sturdy clamp, and I manageed to dent my Thomson Elite seatpost using a short allen key and not all that much effort. Thomson elite is a bit special, though - thinner on the sides and thicker on the front and back. I dented the thin sides.

I have a Thomson Elite seatpost in a Scott CR1 carbon frame and I torqued the clamp with 5 Nm. All the torque specs I have seen in the instruction sheets of high end (?) and light parts (seatpost, stem, handlebar) are in the 5-7 Nm range.
