without them? What was your experience?

I suspect that experiment would prove little or nothing, unless the tires, wheels, frame, fork and
bar tape were identical. Which is what Peter did.

All I know is that if I hop off one bike and onto another, I can feel some of the differences
between the two. Since my stuff is within mm of one another, it stands out more when
something's changed.

I switched from a WCS bar ( hated that ergo bump ) to an Easton carbon, the
first thing I noticed was how much stiffer the Easton was. It really made
that WCS feel like a wet noodle, and the reach on the Easton was a little
longer. Other than that don't remember a "damping" effect at all.
