  1. A local group ride was hit by a driver that lost control of her vehicle. Two riders were killed and
several injured. One woman, a fast-improving racer (started the year as a cat 4, dominated state
races and catted up twice, recently to a 2) was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann hospital.

Please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers as there was no way to avoid being a victim if
you were in his ride and it serves as a reminder of how much our lives are dependent on drivers
    driving safely and courteously.

  3. In Brazoria TX, at the intersection of 322 and 521. It's in the article 😉, and just a few miles
from where I live. Nothing scares me more than idiots in F150s.

Group rides are hassles and therefore targets.

The idea of staying out of the way is lost; even inconsiderate bicyclists unconsciously stay out of
the way when they're alone, most of the time.

In return they get favors from motorists.

    Group rides are the opposite.

It sounds like a horrible accident, not deliberate at all, but this woman was obviously driving
    dangerously.

I guess we all heard about a similar accident in Florida, where another group ride was plowed right
into. This was back in june. TOns of bad injuries, but no deaths,no one paralyzed. They said the
driver may have been diabetic and blacked out. Stuff like this is my worst fear on a group ride!

The truck driver was described as "speeding around the curve", "out of control" , and she spun out
when she applied her brakes. Seems like the groups behaviour wasn't an issue this time.

  9. No. The bad experiences I've had, and witnessed, have typically involved
F150s. A couple years ago, a guy driving one ran a red light going over 50 and hit my wife's car
head on. She was making a left at a protected green arrow at the time. Last week, I saw one
run into a cement truck going about 40 miles an hour. For some reason, I think the F150 is a
    macho moron magnet.

Doesn't matter - you're pretty much replying to a rock. Ron is a hopeless troll and trying to get a
rise out of someone. Ignore him.
