1000ks on the bike, riding past a slip lane, hit from behind by driver not looking where she was going. over the bars into the pavement hip/arm/leg first. fark i say, fark. i felt bad for the lady though, she lost her [censored] and had a breakdown on the side of the road. i myself look like a patch work quilt, there was roadwork so gravel everywhere, now part of my body haha.
on the bonus side i can get rid of my old (1000k,hehe) 05 ocr zero and upgrade to a OCR Composite.

yeah im ok, just abit [censored]. before the car hit me i reached a goal by sprinting up 2.7ks of hellish mountain in 39/21, now the bikes off the road for up to 2months. the waiting will kill me.
Saw a similar situation about a year ago, guy riding along in a bike lane, doing his lactate ride, car turns from road into carpark right in front of the cyclist. Cyclist does beautiful commando roll missing pavement with his head bu about 4 inches, definately would have put him in serious rehab. Driver very sorry, cyclist ok, bike FUBARed. New $900 carbon forks busted. All ended well enough though. Car driver no doubt more careful now.

I got hit, last year, by a old lady in a minivan.....she was polite enough to drag me along the road for a bit. At first me thought I was ok, with just a dinged up bike and ruind clothes, as well as missing flesh. Over the next few weeks things got worse and eventually I developed a frozen shoulder. $17,000 later, I'm fixed, so now all that's left is the settlement with her insurance and my brother the attorney.
People can be apologetic, and that's great. But they have to be willing to accept the consequences of running bicyclists....hell, any road user....down.

I hope you're OK, but I can't feel sorry for this lady. Maybe her breakdown will keep her from behind the wheel and off the road. And the others are right. Go to a good doctor and get a check-up. Call you local Dewey, Cheatem, & Howe office and retain a lawyer.
