Can't give you much information except to say that I'm sure you can walk
there via Sandwood Bay. We went there for a daytrip via the ferry and
minibus service and say a few backpackers about. Kearvaig might be a nice
place to stay overnight. The area around the Cape itself was sheep cropped
grass, don't know if it gets harder going further south. We just climbed
down the cliffs a bit and lazed about mostly.

A rough, wide track leads from Blairmore to the sand dunes at the
southern edge of Sandwood Bay (there is also apparently a coastal path
that I have never walked). from there trackless walking north; it is
possible to stick to the coast all the way, although I seem to get
sucked slightly east and walk between Sithean na h-loleaireich and
Cnon a' Ghiubhais for the stretch north of the Keisgaig River.

It is also possible to walk laong the cliffs from the lighthouse to
Kearvaig Bothy (just outside the danger area); I have never done that,
however, anbd apparently it is a wild walk. You also do not have to
take the ferry, and it is possible to walk around the Kyle of Durness.

It is beautiful terrain, although I an imagine it bad weather it would
be fairly bleak. Enjoy yourself.

Can't help with the Cape Wrath bit, but I've walked into Sandwood Bay
from the road at Blairmore (excellent track\path as far as the Bay) and
camped there.

It's a beautiful spot and plenty of places that are suitable for a
nice seculed and sheltered nights camping, especially around the loch.

Once walked to Cape Wrath from Lairg...

The last day up from Oldshoremore was unforgettable and along with the
west coast of Hoy , is the best coast walk I have yet done.
