I have a caad 9 and love it. My third (cannondale) one and have not had any problems...I've just upgraded.
My 2 cents

I have a Specialized Roubaix and it handles and rides like a dream. I don't think you could go wrong with either. HAve you test ridden them?
-
no i havent ridden either. i hope to do that this weekend. just out of ceorosity, is the specialized fitting program good?
-
I found it to be pretty decent. They took quite a few measurements and were very thorough. I know that the fellows who did it were trained by the Specialized people at some training classes they give. Alll in all the fittting was great. You need to make sure that your particular Specialized dealer is trained to do it.
I hope that answer was helpful!!!

i went to a dealer today. iam thinking about the tarmac that costs just under 2000. i was suprised about the whole ride. it was realy smoth and absorbed small pot holes very well. Aslo the guys at the shop were helpful and friendly. i also rode the roubaix in simular price range. the tarmac seamed more responcive. i hope to try the cannondale tomarrow at a different shop. but for now i'll put my money on the tarmac.
ps the shop i went to today has the SBCU graduates. on their site there are a few pics of the fitting room. it looks nice. cyclecenterct.comcyclecenterct.comOpen ↗

The Tarmac is sweet. I am glad you were happy with the fitting process as it is so very important to riding comfort. SBCU grads....cool! Try the Cannondale like you said. It never hurts. I myself like Specialized but in the end it is what you are comfortable with period!
These kind of decisions are the fun kind!😉 😄
