  1. Hi all

    I'm looking at buying a second hand 52cm Caad9

I'm 177cm tall - am I in range for this size frame?

I won't have a chance to test ride it and need to make a decision fairly quick

    Cheers!

  2. I'd say the frame is too small for you by two sizes. Most people your height (5'10"😉 ride a 56cm frame.

Also, the CAAD9 is considered a pure race geometry frame, meaning a low headtube height with a long top tube for it's size to put you into a "prorace" position. C'dale makes the Six and Synapse if you want more of a "road performance" or "century/club" fit bike.

Compare this frame, seat tube ANGLE and top tube LENGTH to the bicycle you now have that fits. Compare. If w/i a degree and a CM, should be OK. UNESS the bicycle you now have doesn't fit then.......

  4. I Have a CAAD8 im 167cm and mine is a 50. I'd say a 52 would be a bit small

Height tells you nothing about whether a bike will fit or not. A ride does. A fitting does. Knowing your cycling inseam can help rule out bikes.

Don't get rushed into something which may not be right for you. There is always another deal.
