I was surprised to see HGH among the names of the
substances. Wasn't that stuff useless for cycling? Some
people have argued that here, I recall.

In the Outside Magazine article where the guy takes almost
everything, the doctor he was prescribing HGH said it would
help with recovery and the cyclist claims he thought it
worked wonders, but the rider was over 45 IIRC.

This is certainly something to think about. Chump hit the
nail square on the head when he pointed out these doped
riders who are complaining about cramps, diarhea, fuzzy
vision and nearly dying - is this the performance
enhancing stuff?

Andy, just because you happen to know it won't work, doesn't
mean certain members of the peloton won't try it. I remember
back in the 80's when virtually all of my racing buddies
were taking "B-15" (calcium pangamate) after coming to
believe it "oxygenates the blood"...They'll try anything
they have heard might work.

Assuming Manzano is telling the truth at least in part,
where the doctors went wrong is injecting all that actual
[censored] into him. They would have done better to use saline
solution and tell him it was new Eastern Bloc performance
enhancing voodoo. At least he might not have gotten sick
during races.
