  1. We got pounded with snow over the holiday weekend. Several feet all
around. What's a guy to do? Good thing I came up with something to tide
me over for a little while:

Hmmm. Unfortunate name for the photo. I was wondering exactly what
activity you had taken up to 'tide' yourself over....

I guess I could have used "approaching" but that was too long. I figure
using the o instead of u should be enough.
Not to say there couldn't be such activities when unable to ride, but
that would take this even further OT and maybe to another ng if I was so
    inclined to share (I'm not).

I just picked up my new boots last week. How's this for service: When I went
boot shopping in Sept, after trying on 3 or 4 different boots, the guys all
said, you need the Lange somethingerother. It didnt' come in until last
friday, they called me, said get your butt down here, I tried them on and
they fit like a glove... Now, new boots to go with the B2's.... now we just
    need some snow.

Been riding tho! Went out yesterday up to the towers behind my house. It was
kind of fun on the snow. It makes the trails look different. OK< the only
part I didnt like was the one mile hike a bike up a steep frozen jeep trail.
And the road descent home. 31 is too cold for 30 mph.

    Monarch?

A couple of co-workers went to Wolk Creak and said it was incredible with no
crowds. They didn't ask me if I wanted to go.........they suck!

I just rode for a while yesterday. About 7 miles into the ride my riding
bud wanted to go home via the canal.......too many years of football
screwing up his knees so that he can't ride in the cold??? But I at least
got out to ride. Made my cold worse.....

Eh, you don;t want to ski with people who suck anyway! It's much more
    fun with good skiers.

Wolf Creek is great. I usually go about this time of year but haven't
made it yet this year. Last weekend I spent there it was early November
and they already had 60" and then got 40" in the two days I was there.

That football stuff is bad news! I say it's best to stick to
pansy/communist sports like cycling and running!

I was riding my bike in fresh powder yesterday. It was a blast.
The sunny, slow climb up the jeep trail was nice, as was the descent
down the singletrack. Once I got to the jeep trail section of the
descent... 20mph into a 20mph headwind in 30F weather is COLD.
This is the type of weather where I want a shuttle from the top
of the hill to the bottom. I need to bottle my 30F climbs and save
them for descending on the 100F days.

I'm jealous we have a big lack of snow up here in the northwest so far!

    Isn't that one spelled with a "u"?

That looks awesome...I'm jealous. God I miss living in the West (but the SE
does have it's advantages too). What slope were you on? My lady and I are
thinking about hitting Jackson this year in Feb.

    Goodoz

Monarch is the area. You'll have to find that particular slope yourself 🙂.

    That's a great area...again, I'm jealous! You're within striking distance
of 100 hills I haven't skiied yet. I had a pass for Crystal Mt. in Wa. for
6 years running-- Not quite like CO, but a very close second (comparable to
Brek). Used to hit it three days every week in Winter. Man I miss that.

Cudos on the early fluff! And, congratulations on maintaining the
"old-timer" double board thing -- I still haven't tried a snoboard. All of
my friends that have don't ski anymore!!

    Goodoz
