Can someone identify this china?

I second that. www.replacements.com even had (D'oh!) replacements for the
missing pieces from my grandmother's china. I hate my grandmother's china
so I didn't buy them. Was surprised at the price of the stuff, though, and
I'm only missing the lid to one of the covered serving dishes and the lid to
the sugar bowl 🙂

description only. I thought about emailing their info but didn't
because I wouldn't plan on using their service because they're a really
expensive way to go so felt I shouldn't. Am also checking eBay on a
regular basis, but haven't found anything, yet.

I'm thinking it sounds to me like Pfaltzgraff Folk Art.
Check that out and see if it's familar.

Karen, call them! I've done that and they were wonderful in helping me find
my pattern. I had no name either, just a description.

I say go for it. Then when they treat you well even though you're not a
customer, you can give them good word of mouth in exchange for their
trouble.

Well, as I just posted to Karen, I have some of my own interesting
family hand me downs which I'd looked into, so I have a number of
sites bookmarked. Brown with a splash of turquoise screamed 50's to
me so I went to a 1950's dinnerware site and voila!

That's a great site. One page reminded me to ask about ashtrays. There
are some great-looking ashtrays from yesteryear out there. Nobody puts
ashtrays out for smoking anymore. What are people doing to display/use
ashtrays? Float gardenias?

Karen and Trisha, I do not know whom to thank first. I found
replacements for my long discontinued Noritake pattern, after
replacement outfit after replacement outfit assured me that it was
hopeless to look for it, as "nobody" had anything in that pattern.

and I went to that site to look what she had discovered, I didn't
think that I would derive such a benefit from it.

I got married in 1946; we moved to our own apartment a year later and
soon after that, Erich and I bought two dinner sets for 8, or one set
for 16. It was a plain, white, modern looking set, no patters, no
decorations, just exactly what we wanted, Noritake's Angela 107.

After so many years, several pieces broke or chipped and I have wanted
to replace them for all these years. Until today it did not seem
possible. But now, thanks to Karen's search and Trisha's help, I
found exactly what I need and at reasonable prices! As soon as I call
back Jan, the lady who spoke with me on the telephone, I will be able
to replace every single piece I need!!!!! And then, when I no longer
will need the set, one of my granddaughters will have a complete set
for 16, when she and her husband or boyfriend get their first apartment.

But they are hard to find (new). I remember my parents had an *orange*
glazed cigarette box with a lid and matching funky-shaped ashtray circa the
1950's. Wonder what happened to those... hmmm. They probably went the way
of the coke-bottle glass fish, circa mid-60's. LOL I can't say I'm
overly-fond of that particular retro look.
