Lance will be about 30 seconds down when the race enters the
Alps. He will have one bad day in the mountains, giving up
3-4 minutes, and will not recover. He will finish third.

I hope he does'nt get to the podium. Its called overexposure & having Cheryl on his arm does'nt endear him 2 me more. I hope 1 of the germans( t-mobile) or italians win !!!😄

How about Tyler Hamilton--3rd last year with a collarbone he
broke in a crash early in the race. That's one tough hombre.
He ought to have some money bet on him.

Tyler will lose it on the final time trial. He just doesn't
have the engine to match Lance or Jan. But if the prize were

else. Combine that with his freaky genetics and pain
threshold, and you have a winner. I think he's determined to
cement his legacy. Of course, having the best coach and

The guy has been tested and watched like a hawk. It would
be very difficult for him to have doped and not been

their health, although i'm sure they exist. i still find it
very hard to believe that lance would do it.

For the last couple of years, the number of those that doubt
Lance grows. Every year a number of bike friends act like
they know it all and push their negativity about what Lance
can or cannot due. It will be interesting to see if they are
confident enough to stand behind their thoughts and post
them ahead of time. No more changing things up as the
results start to come through.

I for one am standing behind Lance and strongly believe he
will win the 2004 Tour de France. I believe key factors will
be team time trial, last individual time trial and one win
in the mountains.

I am going to go out on a limb and put Tyler Hamilton 2nd
and Jan Ullrich 3rd. I feel Ullrich is going to push himself
too hard at a critical point and Tyler and Lance will both
benefit from it.

Of course I'd love to see Lance win #6...

But I really don't think he's hungry enough any more. He's
become a commercial machine and I think his head is more in
that than the actual racing. The guy is everywhere on the
TV: chronicles, ads and benefits. Hanging with Sheryl will
really finish him off!

An extremely competent rider obviously, but getting old, and
just too many things to juggle besides racing.

He's not going to win this year.
