  1. I understand that both C-Record Pista, and also the later Record Pista cranks both use an asymmetrical 111mm bottom bracket.

Campy Record and Chorus road triple cranksets also came out with a 111mm asymmetrical bottom bracket. Can I use this BB on the Pista cranks ie are they equally asymmetrical? I would prefer to use the road BB as it is better sealed against water and dirt - the pista BB is not sealed as well.

Note also that Campy make a 111mm bottom bracket for Veloce and Athena, but this is symmetrical and would not give correct chainline with the Pista crankset.

    Any help much appreciated.

  2. AFAIK, the cartridge RECORD & CHORUS 111mm spindle BBs are symmetrical.

  3. BTW. If you get some 'standard' (?) BRASS stock that they sell at hobby stores, then I think you can shim the taper on a RECORD/CHORUS BB sufficiently to offset the crankarm -- some trial-and-error may be needed to determine how many sides of the taper need to be wrapped.
