I've been looking for a source for cones and other small hub parts for a relatively recent Campy Record front hub - the one with the oversize axle and clamp-down lock ring fastener. I have one with a galled cone (one of the slip-on cones). I've found one source that seems kind of expensive ($31.00 for a cone). Is that what these parts really cost?
One other question - the wheel is spoked radially. I would not have done that myself (and I see the big "NO" in the Campy hub PDF), but is this enough of an issue such that the wheel should be re-spoked?

The cone fits all front and rear big-axle hubs after 2000, a relatively common part and usually less than that. Change the bearings and clean thoroughly.

Yep, we have them as well as does many decent bike shops, Like Yellow jersey as well...Ours are $26 per.

damage already done, warranty already gone. You run a much bigger risk of breaking the hub flange by relacing ina a different direction.

Shimano is not much better. A few years ago, I had to replace a cracked front cone on my DA 9 model 7700 front hub. The cone cost me $22:

Part of the problem might be ( if I understand which part you need ) is that they are sold in packs of at least 5 at a time. You can maybe get it straight from the Campagnolo USA small parts distributor Ochsner @ $17 (search for : RE022 cone) :
(or otherwise just search for 'cone' and try to figure out what you need.) I'd be really surprised if it costs campy more than $3 to make this part and ship it to the USA.

Any tips on removing the inner cone? It think it's press fit onto the OS axle.

Take the axle out and tap it off. It is not really on there tight at all..
