Campy Mirage left shifter broken...

And one more thing... How do you replace the hoods? I keep on trying, but I
can't remove the damaged hood. If fitting the new one will be as easy as
removing old, I rather move back to downtube shifters...

Pull really hard. The rubber will be able to take it.

If the damaged hood is finished, you can just cut it out with a
scissor. If not, you have to try to pull it off from the front. Add
some rubbing alcohol on the inside of the hood/ergo body. Can be
tough.

To replace with a new hood, put some rubbing alcohol on the inside of
the rubber hood - this will make the rubber slippery (but alcohol
evaporates quickly so work fast). Then push the new hood from the
front towards the back. Remember to push rather than pull - for
whatever reason, it worked much, much better.

Cut off the old one..simple green inside, over the barake lever-pullon-
have those also

Should you get the part, it is not a kiss to install. You need take
almost disassemble the entire lever. YouTube has a picture of how to
do it but it doesn't get easy unless you do several.

Should you fine a 2006 or earlier lever at a decent price, please let
me know. I have a new right one looking for a mate.

Spray them with window washer.
