I was wanting to know some opinions about Campy compatible rear cassette's and chains. I feel the "C-10 campy chain" and the 15 dollar pin you have to buy and can only use once is a little out there. There are things in the past that Campy I feel could work on (Ergobrain and SQ BB design) so I am wondering it anyone has had any exp using different chains and cassettes. IRD comes to mind as well and American classic as other manufactures.
Don't get me wrong...I like my record setup. I just will be needing a new cassette and chain at the end of this year and want to look at my options.
Thanks in advance for your input and comments....

Veloce 10s cogsets, Wipperman 10s chain, or a Campagnolo one and a Wipperman snap link.
Altho I think ergobrain(and flightdeck) are complicated answers to simple questions, sq taper BBs work, work well and has worked for years. Spline is an answer to a not asked question.

I've had good luck with IRD 10sp chain. NG for 11t cog because of their removable link that comes with the chain. Excellent reports on Connex chain too.
Also know folks who swear that the DA 10 sp chain with Sram Powerlink II, gold is the hot setup. I've used the link with 10 sp chain and it works fine.
Another option is Shimano HG x 9sp chain and the Sram link.

For value for money in this regard comes in the form of a Veloce 10sp cassette and a KMC Z9000 or Z9200 chain. They're both 6.6mm wide and supposedly 9sp specific. They both work flawlessly on my Record drive train. Interestingly, KMC has a 10sp specific chain new this year and it is also 6.6mm wide. Prices for the z9000 or Z9200 vary but usually they're at least half the price of a Wip-me-man or Con-me-ex and IRDumb. Another plus is that they often come with their own quik-link. I think I read somewhere on this NG that Al Muzi of Yellow Ted has them for sale. Good luck and be careful of the chain vultures.
