Campag 10sp to Shimano 10sp Conversion?

No need for conversion, you can use the Ultegra 10 speed components
with a Campagnolo 10 speed cassette.

I say, just use the Campagnolo 10s on the wheels you want to use. It will work
fine. Also, ultegra is 'matched' to Centaur, not Chorus, altho price
compartisons can be tough. Chorus and DA are 'comparible', Record, with lots of

I'll try the campag 10 cassette and see how I get on. I've been told
that I can buy indiviudual Marchisio sprockets and spacers, but I'm
guessing that would be more expensive, and probably heavier...

BTW: The quote I was given was for Centaur, the difference in price was
mostly due to the fact that the shimano stuff is supplied as oem,
wheras a camapg groupset would be a custom build-up at the bike shop.

Lighter actually, though shifting isn't quite so good.

Available in the UK from Parker International, or cheaper from Germany via
http://anysystem.de if you setup a Moneybookers account (takes time).

Alternatively, a Veloce 10-speed cassette could be respaced if you find
appropriate spacers.

That's whacky. Here, the Centaur bikes are much less than
the Ultegra Ten bikes.

And you needn't 'do' anything except put the wheel in the bike.

In the UK, I guess issues with the Pound, Euro, Yen.

Also I doubt shimano is doing much about OEM pricing. I am sure they are making
deals to get manufacturers onto the painted ultegra 10s wagon.

I guess I don't get it. Lots of hub-bub about ultegra 10s...5 years after
Campag 10s...oooo, and a shimano 10s triple too, like it is something 'new'.

Without addresssing the shifter issue and still using old
style hubs, too.

Hi there.

The bike in question is a $2099 Cervelo P2K, I'm actually importing
this from the US, as I can get 1.9 dollars to the pound at the moment.
Plus this bike sells for 2099 ukp in this country... So even after
paying courier fees and import tax it's still a considerable saving.

Plus I get to prop up the US economy, and lets face it you guys need
all the help you can get...

I was quoted 98.50 ukp for a Marchisio cassette, which is more than a
record cassette, and approximately 3x the cost of a veloce one... So I
think I'll buy whichever campag cassette comes as individual sprockets,
and respace if it turns out to be necessary.
