I was due to do a round trip and gave up after 70 miles. Too wet to care
anymore and now I am suffering from a chest infection :-( Still it was all
for charity but next time I am just giving a donation and staying in bed.
At least I was prepared and dressed appropriately, I feel sorry for all
those once a year cyclists with all that wet clothing chafing.

I ended up riding 130 miles that day. My feet were so sore by the time
I got home, 8 hours of being soaking wet. I saw a couple of accidents
on the way up, one guy looked pretty bad, he was taken to hospital
according to the paramedic I spoke to.
Just in case anyone saw a bunch of guys walking around Midsummers Common
in Cambridge wearing black bin bags...one of them was me. Sorry :-)

I did see someone in black plastic bin liners at Cambridge. We were the
ones spilling coffee due to the shivering! Respect on doing 13o in that
weather, I feel like a wimp now :-)
I saw that accident soon after it had happened. Not sure if it was a
collision or equipment failure but it looked like his forks had snapped just
below the brakes.
I hope he is ok as it looked like some nasty facial injuries
