  1. Howdy all,
I lost my bike on the weekend, careless I know but it had a lot to do with a
scum bag with cable cutters. Anyhow, after swearing I'll put a jagged stick
through their eye if I ever catch the bugger, this is a good excuse for me to
buy the new bike I've been thinking about for awhile.
So... it turns out that Bicycle Victoria have a damn good bike offer
[http://www.bv.com.au/inform.php?a=4&b=20&c=234] for people who renew their
membership in June. Unfortunately, my membership expires in September and for
"bureaucratic reasons" they won't renew me earlier.
I'm just wondering if anyone here is a BV memeber who's renewal comes up in
June. If so, and they don't want to buy a new bike themselves, would they mind
giving me their ‘renewing member offer coupon’ together with their ‘renewal
    confirmation letter’?
    Hopefully,
    Stuboy.

Go to the Learsport website, contact your nearest dealer and demand the
same deal. They should do it. Learsport dealers are like that, at least
my LBSG and the guy I know in Nowra both are. You could get full carbon
+ dura ace for $3K. Try it.

I renewed mine recently (against mybetter judgement) - I think
I have the voucher thingo around somewhere - I'll have a look - you
    want a learsport?

The discount pricing for the Learsport is very cheap. Unfortunately i bought Dads a week before and only got the trade-in discount (5% more expensive)

Giant have a huge sale at Goldcross at the moment and their road bikes are nearly the same price so they may also be worth a look.

My membership falls due in Sept. so unfortunately i cannot help.

  5. I've had a look at the Learsport roadbikes and was pretty impressed by
them. At least, I haven't heard anything bad about them either.
I have checked with Learsport and they won't give nearly the same
discount directly and for whatever reason BV won't early renew subs!
    Cheers, Stu

I might have to have a look at this tomorrow too.
    Thanks.

Does the BV deal apply to new members or just renewing members? Try becoming a new member. If you are an existing member registered as "John William Bloggs" enroll as the entirely different person "John Bloggs" or vice versa. Then let your original membership lapse. Cost will be the cost of the membership for the time it is doubled up plus any joining fee/application fee. If this is less than the value of the discount, you are ahead.

Alternatively, help your cat fill out a form and become a new member.😄

Hmmm....special offers to members to renew membership usually smells of trying to stem the tide of members leaving!!

Ahh.... you mean you're one of these - I know I am...

A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they
ought to be. Hence the custom among the Scythians of plucking out a

the date alone would tend to indicate an accountant's mind
(thrusts sticks into voodoo-doll likeness of persona-void-entity. grrr)
at work to boost some numbers prior to EOFY

perhaps its to ensure the newbies who signed up last year for the GVBR (and had to do so early to get the orange/purple cannondale-not) stay in the fold. Im sure they'll further boost numbers this year with the same GVBR-scenario.
