Buying a fleece

Well, I don't hold much by anything written in "Country
Walking"....

However, Regatta stuff is usually decent value. I have an
ancient (10+ years) Regatta fleece which is going a bit
threadbear in places, but is still adequate for gardening
duties. I've other bits of Regatta clothing which also last
for ever; the polycotton outdoor trousers for example,
which do everything from summer hill walking to skiing duty
in Norway ( though with additional thermal undies in the
latter case ).

Price seems fair though I've seen perfectly good fleece for
even less elsewhere.

If it fits you comfortably, and you can get your hands in
the pockets, then its going to be fine.

Naaahhh. Best stick with TGO and walk over a crag. ;-0

I bought 3 fleeces recently from Peacocks high street
discount store; two pullover at £7 each, and one full length
zip at £10. Both are better than one I paid £45 quid for
many years ago in that they zip up snugly round my neck.

There is no perceptible difference in insulation as far as I
am concerned, but neither has an inside pocket.

Indeed, I can vouch for the "value" fleeces too, I have
several I bought from Primark for £6 each - they are just as
good as any other fleece (except those with waterproof
linings etc)

£4 each. Absolutely brilliant for walking - warm light
good stretch.

Primark - they way to go :-) Oh yes I also go three fleece
tops at £3.50 each - brilliant.
