Ok, so I searched the forum and the sight and I can only find very minimal information on making hubs. I have seen several cranks for sale on ebay and it would be cool to adapt them to Uni. So can anyone direct me to posts or to information on building hubs. Is it as easy as welding a shaft into a hub without bearings. (I can't imaginge that, or we would all be doing it). What do your bearings sit on, what are the measurements of things. Do you need a degree in metal machining, whats up???

if the ebay cranks are square tapered, they will probably work, just one side will have a "spider" arm that you'll need to grind off carefully. making hubs is hard. you probably shouldn't try if you doubt your skills.
