I've got to speak up about Exeter aswell.

It's chuffin' down south! The BUC's been a traditionally northern thing
so why not compromise and try and set it somewhere in central Englad,
so it's as convenient for everyone as possible.

    Let me see
    BUC1- birmingham
    BUC2- Hastings?
    BUC3- Cardiff
    BUc4- Gloucester
    BUC5- edingburgh?
    BUC6- North Wales
    BUC7- North Wales
    BUC8- Plymouth ( with Eurocycle 2001)
    BUC9- Kidderminster
    BUC10- Kidderminster
    BUc11- Stockton
    BUC12- Stockton
    BUC13-Scarborough ( 2006)

I make that 7 in the middle, 4 up north , 2 down south.

Its very simple- if you want it in the middle- organise it in the
middle. Recently the clubs that have volunteered to organise it are
Northern clubs. SWUM is not in a positon to do BUC in Exeter 2007, we
would not organise it in the midlands as we are a Devon Club. I
understand EMU do not want to do 2007 in the midlands as BJC2007 is in
    Derby.

Not many would want that. BUC13 in Scarborough had more than enough rain
    as it is!😄

I would! Either there or London. Can't we have some sort of vote?

  5. So do you want a date?

    20th to 22nd April 2007

Will it be extended to the 19th... depends on the location but it
    looks like a plan. :-)

    Where?

    StMichaels School Billingham.

    Who are the organisers?

Well you know them (sorry), Stockton Unicycle and Juggling club. :-D

When is the website and info going up?

Soon, we need Tall Paul for this and he is away on holiday.

You can have as many votes as you like, but unless you've got a team of
volunteers, each with a venue, in all of the locations you wish to
include in the vote, it'll be a bit pointless. BUC doesn't happen by
magic - it takes a lot of work and can only realistically be done by
people who live in the area that is being proposed.

There has only been 1 group offering to host BUC this year, so if you
really want to vote, you can choose between Stockton/Billingham or
    having no BUC.

For me, that's an easy decision - even though I think Bristol is in the
    North, let alone Stockton!

    Paul

    I agree completely.

I'm delighted that Stockton have decided to host BUC again, the last
    two they did were great.

Anyone who objects to driving all the way to Stockton should consider
whether it's better to drive 7 hours each way or spend 6 months of your
life organising a BUC. I'd like BUC to be round the corner from my
house, but at the moment there's no way I can make that happen, I don't
have the time, the people or the venue, so I'm grateful to Roger and
the rest of the Stockton club for making BUC 2007 happen. Rant over :o

  8. I really liked sleeping in the classrooms (like we did last time in
Billingham) rather than camping (like Scarborough). Last year I hated
having to mess around putting the tent up and worrying about the rain,
rather than just getting on with socialising or unicycling. Will we be
able to sleep in the classrooms again?

  10. Yeah!

My first two BUC's were done by Roger and co at Billingham. They were
    great.

My third at Scarbrough was not as good.

I think this was down to the organisers, no disrespect to the
scarbrough crew! They are a juggling club, organising a unicycle
event. They would organise a better juggling event, cos its what
    they're more into.

So for a good unicycling event, organise it by unicyclists. And I know
no keener unicyclists than Roger and co.

Also, distance is very important as I am way up here in Glasgow, which
isn't even north scotland but is still bloody miles away from your
    "north". 🙂

    Yay Billingham!

  12. I found it impossible to sleep at BUC13; for me to sleep it has to be
absolutely pitch dark and absolutely silent. The campsite where I
pitched my tent was floodlit all through the night, and people were
coming and going all the time through the main door which slammed shut
    everytime.

I'd like to try indoor sleeping at BUC14 if they allow us to do that.
Then I won't have to bring a tent, less luggage to load into the car...
which means I can put in more unicycles!🙂

  13. Another vote for Exeter 🙂
    What's everybody moaning about - Exeter's really close :p

Seriously though, if it were to be in Exeter I'd be up for organising a
muni ride - Haldon Forest has some excellent singletrack and of course
    Dartmoor's not far.

how ungreatfull! like its been said were doing it and by the looks of
what people are saying it is us or nothing. It was fun that you didnt
really need to sleep much either so why does it matter where you sleep.
..im sure if you desire to bare the weather out in a tent then roger

personally i cant wait for us to hold it again next year , its always

Surgest you invest in ear plugs and an eye mask then, classroom camping
is seldom silent and there is always some moron who turns the light on
to find their sleeping bag when they roll in after you went to bed.
Oh, and take a torch - so you won't be that moron. Agree its nice not
to have to pack a tent tho.

I've tried them, but they're slightly uncomfortable and I seem to have a
knack of removing them while sleeping.

Plus, how am I supposed to hear the alarm clock (mobile phone used
as...) in the morning? I don't want to miss the organised breakfasts!

I suggest that the organisers enforce the torch rule by removing the
    lightbulbs from the room beforehand.
