It's not that bad riding through the rain. Although it's not much fun getting to work soaking wet. After living in Melbourne for a while, the rain doesn't really bother me anymore, and after Around the Bay 2003, I can ride through just about anything.
noooooooooooooo! not memories of RTB'03 😄
sitting on that damn ferry shivering and then getting on bike in queenscliff in drizzle/wind desperately trying to get warm. the only thing that made me warm wa sseeing how bad the volunteers had it! respect!!
Yeah I remember
To the guy who shared his blanket with me.. thanks.. To the girl who gave me a hug during shivering attack.. I will support your child if you got pregnant. To Ians dad who brought dry socks you are my hero.
That was the toughest thing I have ever done.. bar nothing.
I saw snow this morning, lots of it. I was in a light plane at the time though, but we were at 2000' (~700m) over Philip Is. There was snow on the beaches at Cowes.

Cool! Now I just have to get up to wherever the hell it is that you are. .
I am less than 600m (about 400 I think?????) so not so far up. But obviously far enough up today. Base of the Strzlecki's. I heard that it was minus one at 4 pm. Now that's COOL!!!!!!
Hmmm, was it last weekend or this that was the "moonlighting" MBTC ride?

So what clothing do people recommend for bicycling in this type of weather.[/QUOTE] I went for two of most things: two pairs of socks, two shoes, two neoprene booties, two pairs of leg warmers, two knicks, two thermals, two inner gloves, two regular winter gloves. And one of long sleeved winter top, wind vest, and beanie.
Worked well enough.
Was amazed by the people with short knicks, exposed knees, fingerless gloves.

yeah I must get another pair of gloves. Rode in shorts yesterday.. it was one of those days I felt good you know. Not today 🙁 I must say I dont notice the cold on my legs once I am moving. Its still probably better to keep the muscles warm

Flying through a snowshower is amazing.
You Capital-B-Barstid!
it was a pretty amazing flight. A friend of mine has a command instrument rating, and he had a currency test, so I tagged along in the back seat for the ride.
