Brooklyn and Bronx

Today on the Travel Channel, "Tony Danza's Brooklyn." He mentioned
Junior's Restaurant. Especially their cheesecake.

And Coney Island!

Danza did show the Botanical Gardens and it looked great!

Don't forget Katz's Deli in the Bowery. They have pastrami and corned
beef to kill for. {:-)

Brooklyn: Jacques Torres Chocolate Shop on Waters Street. If you get
there early enough, be sure to try the Pithiviers cake or a chocolate
pastry. Then, fill up your bag with chocolates! It is a tiny, tiny
shop but it's worth the trek if you love chocolate.

Also, Park Slope, Fifth Ave has a lot of restaurants.

Stu Leonard's is all but across the street from Penzey's, and worth
some time wandering around. I wasn't impressed with the prices, but
they do have variety and some interesting scenery.

Up Prospect to Grand Something Plaza is often a Farmer's market. Go
aorund the plaza and head down Flatbush towards Manhattan, and you
will find Juniors.

Wander through Prospect Park as well--it's pretty this time of year.

Say Hi to the Bonsai room at the Botanical Gardens. That and the
Tropical room downstairs are my favorites.

Atlantic Avenue, just a few blocks before getting to the Brooklyn Bridge
(on the Brooklyn side) was a favourite place of mine oh these many years
ago: A row of Middle Eastern restaurants and groceries.
